Mixed Media Artist

Statement

I make art to exercise my God-given talent and to share it with the world! I want to maximize my mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being with my art, and I want to equally enhance the lives of those around me. I feel a need to implement the gift that I have been given. My goal is to complete what God puts in me to create—and it is all for His greater purpose. I hope to offer myself and others beautiful works to hang on walls to better the world around us, to beautify that world, to inspire others, and to spark social change.

I select pieces or themes based on spiritual prompting, and sometimes through dreams. I choose materials based on what I have, what I see in my mind, and what I want to use. As far as techniques, my Spirit guides my decision-making process.

My current work revolves around non-representational and representational art, and it experiments with texture. I have been using colors, textures, and techniques to create non-representational pieces, scenes from nature, to express current events, to express what's in my Spirit, or to express my personal introspection. My previous work has been abstract and very much culturally activist. Changes in the world have brought me back around to that now. Nevertheless, I’m exploring and experimenting with new materials and techniques, and I’m challenging myself to create work that stretches my imagination!
